Cineworld

Cineworld is the second largest cinema chain in the UK and arguably as popular as it’s main rival Odeon, thanks to the amount of locations and it’s Unlimited card, the chain’s subscription and loyalty service. Cineworld is comprised of two separate chains, Cineworld and Picturehouse Cinemas, with 82 and 24 cinemas respectively in the UK and Ireland. For more information on Picturehouse Cinemas, where your nearest venue is or what’s showing, you can find it here.

Cineworld, like Odeon is continually updating refreshing it’s cinemas in the UK by adding new and exciting features for audiences. Alongside a mainstream film programme, special screenings and the ever popular Baskin Robbins counters, Cineworld now offers bars serving alcoholic drinks in many of it’s locations.

Newer cinemas also benefit from D-Box seating, (where your cinema chair is synchronised to the film and mimics movements and vibrations on screen), the 4DX cinematic experience (high-tech motion seats and special effects including wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents), Superscreens  and the VIP experience.

The VIP experience is currently only available in Glasgow and Sheffield but customers can enjoy a light buffet, non-alcoholic drinks, use of an exclusive lounge pre-screening, film and luxury seats all for the princely sum of £29 per person. Don’t worry, if you fancy a tipple or two, this can be found at the onsite bar, it’s just not included in the price.

Found mainly on retail parks and out of town leisure developments, Cineworld cinemas are a great way to spend a Saturday night or rainy Sunday with the whole family.
